History
Originally built by RML and driven by John Cleland in the 1996 British Touring Car Championship and Tourist Trophy. The car was updated by Triple Eight Engineering when they took over running the works Vauxhall team in 1997. The car continued to be used by John Cleland for the first part of the season until his Triple Eight Engineering car was ready at Knockhill in Scotland. No other detailed information is currently available on the history of this car apart from that it remained largely unused for many years, ending up in Norway. It was returned to the UK in 2015 and raced occasionally by its owner James Hanson. 2017 the car was sold to private collector who had the livery changed to the #3 Opel Vectra STELLA ARTOIS SPA 24 hr car of 1996 driven by Thibaut, Cudini and Van de Poele and placed on display at the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit Museum.
