History
This is the last Vauxhall Cavalier 16v built by RML for Vauxhall Sport in 1995. It was used as a test car used by John Cleland, James Thompson and Mike Briggs that year. It was first used as a race car in the FIA Touring Car World Cup at Paul Ricard by Anthony Reid representing Opel Team Japan. It made its British Touring Car Championship debut in the hands of Richard Kaye in 1996 run by Mint Motorsport. Still in the hands of Mint Motorsport it ran in the 1997 British Touring Car Championship with Jamie Wall behind the wheel. Nigel Bowen acquired the car next and ran it in various saloon championships until 2004 when it was placed in storage. Supertouring guru Jonny Westbrook acquired the car in 2009 and carried out a complete bare shell restoration. The car made its race debut in the Fujifilm Touring Car Trophy race at the Silverstone Classic in 2012. The car is now in the hands of Tony Absolom.
