Silverstone Classic Media Day

The HSCC Super Touring Championship grid descended upon Silverstone as a range of historic motorsport machinery came together for the Silverstone Classic media and test day.
The test day saw some of the newer entries to the series make their first appearance in the metal, with a second Williams Renault Laguna out on track, as well as a brace of BMWs and three Prodrive-built Ford Mondeos.
Notable names not appearing for the test day were Thruxton winners John Cleland and Patrick Watts, as well as both James and Graeme Dodd, who suffered mechanical gremlins at the opening round of the year. While Dave Jarman was there in person, his car was not, as it was being prepared for the next round of the season.
However, the morning test session saw Rob Huff test one of the three Ford Mondeos, immediately getting straight up to pace and setting a time that would have been good enough for pole position at the 2013 Silverstone Classic.
The event gave those in attendance a chance to not only prepare their cars for one of the biggest historic racing events in the world, but for next month's (7/8 June) round in support of the British Touring Car Championship, with one race broadcast live on the Sunday on ITV4.
